Vancouver Fashion Week Opening Gala

I am starting October off with a bold outfit post on what I wore to the Vancouver Fashion Week Opening Gala last Monday. Did anyone go or have seen photos of the show on social media? If you didn’t get the chance to yet, simply google Vancouver Fashion Week (VFW) 2015 – there are tons of photos captured from the event! But if you’re patient in enough, wait for my upcoming post on my full VFW experience where I share some of my favourite looks on the runway. “A Peek of Vancouver Fashion Week” will be up in the next few days – bear with me my friends!

I’ve been to fashion shows in the past, but nothing on the scale of VFW with an opening gala and seven continuous days of fashion. When you think of Hollywood opening galas, you think of evening gowns and tailored suits. But with fashion shows, it’s about expressing yourself and showing off your style. It’s also a great opportunity to wear a piece that you’ve been dying to wear, but haven’t had the perfect occasion to. For me, I’ve been wanting to wear this black and white pattern puffy skirt for awhile now, so here’s my take on styling it. What would you wear and how would you style tulle inspired skirts?
